EuCAS annually organizes Steering Committee Meetings at the AAEA headquarter as well as Plenary meetings during IAEA General Conference in Vienna. The Steering Committee meetings address the importance and urgency of capacity building at an institutional, organizational and technical levels and is intended to strengthen relations among the EuCAS member states and to identify concrete actions reflecting current and future needs, which will assist States to establish and/or improve their regulatory infrastructure through effective and efficient capacity building, including education and training. EuCAS, like other regional networks, fosters enhancement, strengthening and harmonization of the radiation protection, nuclear safety and security regulatory infrastructure and framework among its members; and provides mechanisms for EuCASto be an effective and efficient internationally recognized physical and virtual forum for the exchange of regulatory experiences and practices among the nuclear regulatory bodies in EuCAS member countries. The IAEA and the relevant regional and international safety networks praised the establishment of ANNuR and considered this network as a major support for the Global Nuclear Safety and Security Regime and assured the full support for this network.
