This Module starts with introduction, and continues with describing the severe accident phenomenology, the source term associated with severe accidents, in-plant accident management programme, accident monitoring system, and accident management guidance. It also contains an overview of the important IAEA safety standards.
Case studies are in the form of three different accident cases, where the courses of the accidents are given. The trainees in small groups should determine what the cause of accident was and what should be done in terms of preventing the accident. There are also 9 multiple choice questions that the lecturer can use for the weekly exam.
