This Module covers atomic structure of matter, structure of the atom, atomic nucleus, radioactivity, nuclear reactions, fission, neutron cycle, reactor kinetics, reactivity changes, subcritical multiplication, and heat removal from nuclear reactions. In appendices, it also includes the periodic table of the elements and some important nuclide data.
Case studies (one for each chapter) are in the form of exercises that the trainees are expected to solve individually. There are also 27 multiple choice questions that the lecturer can use for the weekly exam.
Textbook contains 89 pages, and there are 183 transparencies (for this Module, the extent is approximately the same for 1-month and 3-month course, therefore there is only one version of transparencies).
