The Objective of the Regulatory Network is:

1. to contribute to the effectiveness of nuclear regulatory framework;
2. to contribute to continuous enhancement of cooperation among regulators; and
3. to achieve and promote radiation and nuclear safety and security by:

• Enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of international cooperation in the regulation of  nuclear, radiation, transport and waste safety, nuclear security, and preparedness and response to nuclear and radiological emergencies;
• Enabling adequate access by regulators to relevant safety and security information;
• Promoting dissemination of information on safety and security issues as well as information on good practices for addressing and resolving these issues;
• Enabling synergies among different web based networks with a view to strengthening and enhancing the global nuclear safety and security framework and serving the specific needs of regulators and international organizations;
• Providing additional information to the public on international regulatory cooperation in safety and security matters.
