The TSOF, established in 2010 by the IAEA, promotes collaboration among TSOs and other organizations interested in technical and scientific issues related to nuclear safety and security. TSOF is open to TSOs and expert groups nominated by IAEA Member States. Representatives of the European Commission, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development Nuclear Energy Agency (OECD NEA) and regional TSO networks participate as observers. A TSOF Steering Committee facilitates and oversees the implementation of the forum’s programme.
What does TSO Forum offer?
A platform to develop common approaches to build and maintain a high level of safety in line with the IAEA safety standards.
An initiative to help Member States in developing and strengthening their technical and scientific capabilities, based on an IAEA Technical Document developed with the support of the Forum.
Two consultancy meetings took place in Vienna in the week of July 17-21, 2017. Representatives of Regulatory Bodies and TSOs from Finland, France, Pakistan, Russian Federation, South Africa and the United States of America drafted a TSO self-assessment and developed a case study to help Member States when developing their technical and scientific capability.

10th TSOF Steering Committee:The 10th meeting of the Steering Committee (SC) of the Technical and Scientific Organizations' Forum (TSOF) was held in the IAEA from 27 to 28 October 2016 and gathered 14 participants from 10 Member States and from the European Commission. In addition, 10 experts from the Agency attended and provided presentations to the Steering Committee Members.
Consultancy meeting, July 4-6, 2016, ViennaFollowing one of the main conclusions of the last TSO conference in Beijing 2014, the TSO Forum members are currently evaluating the need of developing an action to support the development of technical and scientific capabilities in embarking countries, especially for TSOs supporting Regulatory Bodies and in synergy with existing support initiatives.
