The TSOF, established in 2010 by the IAEA, promotes collaboration among TSOs and other organizations interested in technical and scientific issues related to nuclear safety and security. TSOF is open to TSOs and expert groups nominated by IAEA Member States. Representatives of the European Commission, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development Nuclear Energy Agency (OECD NEA) and regional TSO networks participate as observers. A TSOF Steering Committee facilitates and oversees the implementation of the forum’s programme.
What does TSO Forum offer?
A platform to develop common approaches to build and maintain a high level of safety in line with the IAEA safety standards.
An initiative to help Member States in developing and strengthening their technical and scientific capabilities, based on an IAEA Technical Document developed with the support of the Forum.
National TSOF Workshop to develop and strengthen technical and scientific capabilities, NNR, South Africa, 25-29 Nov 2019First TSOF National workshop to analyse the results of self-assessment conducted by NNR/CNSS, South Africa, based on the TSO Initiative tools was carried out in Nov 2019. The primary objective was to assist NNR/CNSS, SOuth Africa in establishing and maintaining technical and scientific capabilities for supporting regulatory functions. IAEA-TSOF also intended to capture feedback for the toolbox from the South Africa national workshop.
10th Consultancy Meeting, 8-10 April 2019, IAEA, ViennaThe tenth Consultancy Meeting was held in Vienna from 8th to 10th April 2019, to review the entire spider-web chart analysis tool (including the incorporation of self-assessment questionnaire) to bring it close to finalisation. Experts briefed on the status of development of case studies template. Discussions on the latest draft of time-line strategy document (mapping/roadmap of TSO competences aligned with milestone approach) were also carried out.
9th Consultancy Meeting, 19-21 March 2019, IAEA, ViennaThe ninth Consultancy Meeting was held in Vienna from 19th to 21st March 2019, to review the entire TSO self-assessment questionnaire to bring it close to finalisation. Experts also provdied an overview on the concept of time-line strategy approach (mapping/roadmap of TSO competences aligned with milestone approach) and discussions on the impact of such an approach on drafting of self-assessment questionnaire were also carried out.
8th Consultancy Meeting, 29-31 January 2019, IAEA, ViennaThe eighth Consultancy Meeting was held in Vienna from 29-31 January 2019, to discuss and draft specific sub-questions of the self-assessment questionnaire for technical 6 pillars of TSO Initiative. During the consultancy, mapping of the self-assessment questionnaire specific sub-questions for the development of spider web chart assessment tool was also done.
TSO Conference 2014 proceedings published in November 2018This publication is the proceedings of an international conference Held in Beijing, from the 27th to the 31th of October 2014, with a primary objective to examine Technical and Scientific Support Organizations (TSOs) and their role in the light of the Fukushima Daiichi accident.
