TSOF activities are focused on the enhancement of nuclear and radiation safety and security and related
infrastructure development. They are implemented in close cooperation with the Regulatory Cooperation
Forum (RCF), the established regional TSO networks as well as with the NEA’s Committee on the Safety of
Nuclear Installations (CSNI) on issues related to scientific and technical support to global nuclear safety.
The TSOF Steering Committee oversees the Forum’s activities. The chairperson is appointed by the forum for
a two year period. The steering committee is set up to provide advice on policies and strategies for the forum.
The membership in the steering committee is defined and reviewed in coordination with the IAEA every two
years. The steering committee meets twice a year. The activities of TSOF and its steering committee, including
the maintenance of the TSOF website (www.gnssn.iaea.org/TSOF), are facilitated and supported by the IAEA
Secretariat.
