GNSSN Home > NNRP Workshop - July 2011

Welcome to the National Nuclear Regulatory Portals Workshop Site!

The purpose of the workshop is to present and discuss the current status of National Nuclear Regulatory Portals (NNRP), which are part of the Global Nuclear Safety and Security Network (GNSSN). The GNSSN is a web-based IT platform, which provides access to information within the IAEA and to a large number of networks. The GNSSN supports collaboration and cooperation among national authorities, specialists, international organizations, forums and working groups in the area of nuclear safety and security on a global scale.

The NNRP is a sub-site in the GNSSN that contains relevant information on the national regulatory authorities in Member States. NNRP sites are only accessible to authorized GNSSN users. Typically, these sites include information on nuclear facilities and radiation activities and the role of government and regulatory bodies in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy. The information provided helps to understand how nuclear regulation is organized in Member States and how it can contribute to improving nuclear safety and security.
