ANSN-Siting
Asian Nuclear Safety Network

 

The objectives of this group are as follows:

  • To serve as a forum for exchanging and sharing information, experience and knowledge on all safety aspects related to the selection and evaluation of sites for nuclear power plants (hereafter named as ‘siting’, only for the purpose of this document) among the member countries;
  • To enhance the capability of siting safety in the region, consistent with the IAEA safety standards and associated technical documents;
  • To identify, collect, analyse and share good methodologies, criteria, practices and lessons learned for dealing with and resolving the issues related to siting;
  • To promote a strong safety culture within regulatory bodies and operating organizations through STG activities;
  • To plan, develop and operate a pool of qualified experts and/or organizations in all interdisciplinary fields of site selection and evaluation aspects existing in the member countries; and
  • To provide feedback on the experience in implementing STG activity plans and the needs of additional activity plans with strong justification to the ANSN PMO and the SACG Coordinator.
