The objectives of this group are as follows:
- To promote cooperation and sharing of good practices and lessons learned among ANSN member countries in the area of safety assessment and operational safety;
- To enhance the capability of safety assessment and operational safety in the region, consistent with the IAEA safety standards and associated technical documents;
- To promote a strong safety culture within regulatory bodies and operating organizations through SATG activities;
- To serve as a forum for information exchange and to foster the sharing of knowledge and experience on safety analysis for design and on construction, commissioning and operation of nuclear power plants;
- To promote cooperation among regulatory bodies and relevant stakeholders including technical and scientific support organizations (TSO) and operating organizations of ANSN member countries in the safe design and operation of nuclear power plants; and
- To provide feedback on the experience in implementing SATG activity plans and the needs of additional activity plans with strong justification to the ANSN PMO and the SACG Coordinator.
