Regulatory Infrastructure Development Project (RIDP) is an IAEA technical assistance mechanism supporting countries in establishing or enhancing the national regulatory infrastructure for radiation safety and for security of radioactive material.
RIDP is a flexible and adaptable IAEA assistance mechanism designed to address current and future needs of the participating States towards establishing national regulatory infrastructure in radiation safety and security of radioactive material consistent with IAEA Safety Standards and Security Guidance and with the Code of Conduct on the safety and security of radiation sources.
The Department of Safety and Security of the IAEA administers active RIDPs through a team of professional and general support staff of the Division of Nuclear Security and the Division of Radiation, Transport and Waste Safety.
Objective
The general objective of RIDP is to Promote sustainable socio-economic development in participating States by ensuring radiation safety, security of Radioactive Material, and the peaceful application of nuclear technology.
