Introduction: The main output of self-assessment of the national infrastructure for safety in a country is to identify the gaps and overlaps with respect to the requirements and recommendations of the IAEA Safety Standards, and develop an improvement action plan for rectifying them.
To this effect, once the analysis team(s) have completed the analysis (made SWOT analysis, and provided conclusions and recommendations), SARIS enables the action planning team to develop an action plan based on the suggested recommendations.
To develop an action plan for a complete module:
1. Log in to SARIS using your Action Planner username and password provided by the Administrator.(Note: If the Action Planner role is given in conjunction with for instance Analysis role, i.e., the analysis team will also develop the action plan, then the user name and password of the analysis team would be applied)
2. Select the module for which you are assigned to develop the action plan from the list of lifecycles

symbol in front of the lifecycle name to get the questionnaires, and the same symbol in front of the questionnaire name to get the modules]
3. Click the Action Plan button at the Module Tools group, and the Module Action Plan tab page will open.
[The Recommendations provided by the analysis team will be uploaded by default and displayed on the left pane of the Module Action Plan tab page]
4. To develop the Actions for each recommendation:
a. Select the Recommendation for which you want to provide related actions
b. Click the Add button in the Action Plan Commands group
c. Insert Action, Responsible Person, proposed Start Date and End Date.
(Note: Acceptance Date is for Senior Management to put a signature date to signify that the particular action has been completed. Hence it is to be used at later date during the follow-up phase and therefore no input is expected for this column during developing the action plan)
d. Click Save button in the Data Editing group and continue inserting additional actions, or the Save & Close button if you want to save and exit.
Note: You can provide as many actions as you need for a selected recommendation by using the Add button in the Action Plan Commands group. You can also use the Insert button from the same group if you want to insert an action in between two already inserted actions.
