Introduction: When the respondent team have finished responding to all the primary and subsidiary questions and are satisfied that it is completed, the module is ready for analysis. The analysis team could then conduct module analysis following the steps below:
1. Log in to SARIS using your Analyst username and password provided by the Administrator.
2. Select the module for which you are assigned to conduct analysis from the list of lifecycles
[To select modules, click the
symbol in front of the lifecycle name to get the questionnaires, and the same symbol in front of the questionnaire name to get the modules]
3. Click the Analysis button at the Module Tools group, and the Module Analysis tools tab page with several tabs (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats, Conclusions, Recommendations and Remarks) will open.
4. To provide conclusions, for instance,
a. Click and open the Conclusions tab page
b. Insert your conclusions in the text field
c. Click the Save & Close button in the Data Editing group if you want to save and exit, or the Save button if you want to just save but not close the page.
5. Follow the same steps as No. 4 above to insert Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats (SWOT), as well as Recommendations in their respective tab pages.
Note: In order for your conclusions, recommendations, etc. to appear in different rows of a table as C1, C2, R1, R2, etc. in your final report, please insert --- (three hyphens) in a new line after every conclusion/recommendation. Example:
First recommendation
---
Second recommendation, etc.
Note: Module Analysis can be conducted (i.e. the Analysis button will become active) only when all primary and respective subsidiary questions of the module are completed.
Note: For a module analysis to be considered complete, at least the Conclusions and Recommendations have to be provided by the analysis team.
Note: Full analysis (SWOT, conclusions, recommendations, etc.) is expected to be conducted at the module level. However, if the analysis team finds it necessary to make analysis of a particular question (for emphasis, etc.), it is also possible to make analysis of a particular question using the Analysis tab at the Module [title] tab page for primary questions, or the Subsidiary Questions tab page for subsidiary questions. However, Kindly note that analysis at the question level does not replace analysis at the module level which is mandatory for developing an action plan.
Note: The Rating tab (Analysis Compliance Rating) is for the analysis team to indicate the rate of compliance with the IAEA Safety Standards in the particular topic, based on the responses given to the primary and subsidiary questions. Thus, a two star rating by the analysis team would be interpreted as 40 % compliance and a three star rating as 60% compliance (each star representing about 20%). Hence, if the answer given by the response team to a primary question was YES (compliance) and the analysis team provided one or two stars rating (non-compliance), the software would interpret it as a difference in opinion between the response and analysis teams; thus it would flag that a discussion between the two teams is needed to reach an agreement. Such an “error” flag message would also appear if, for instance, the answer to the primary question was NO (non-compliance) and the analysis team provided a three/four/five star (compliance) rating.
