COMPLETING AND SUBMITTING REQUESTED INFORMATION TO PARTICIPATE IN SEGMENT 3 OF THE SCHOOL
Registered participants in the School commit to provide to the Secretariat with advance reference information (a questionnaire) regarding the status of their national governmental, legal and regulatory framework and plans to complete such framework. This advance information is necessary for IAEA staff and experts to acquire current information and good understanding of the national context to mentor participants effectively along the process, especially during the in-person workshop of the School (segment 3).
From time to time the IAEA organizes a School within the framework of one of its technical assistance projects. Interested countries participating in the project are eligible to submit candidate nominations through official channels. Once the Secretariat has reviewed the nominations and selected the candidates, School participants from the same country are expected to work together to complete and send to the Secretariat the questionnaire.
Normally, the School organizers will submit the questionnaire to the country's contact person as part of the formalities to call for candidate nominations to participate in the in-person face-to-face workshop of the School. The questionnaire is sent well in advance for the national authorities to have a better understanding about the School approach to make a well-informed decision about the candidates propose to participate in the in-person workshop.
The questionnaire is intended to collect information about:
- Part I: Governmental, Legal and Regulatory Framework:
- Authorities and processes
- Legal framework
- Regulatory framework
- Part II: Plan to draft and issue the new or revised regulation(s)
- Drafting process
- Issuance and implementation of the new or revised regulation
- Part III: Practices using Ionizing Radiation:

- Industrial and research
- Practices for managing disused radioactive sources and other radioactive waste
- Categories of sources for existing practices/Applications

Non-registered participants in the School (i.e. on-line visitors of the School programme in CLP4NET) do not need to fill up the questionnaire.
