GNSSCOM supports Member States to effectively communicate safety and security information, and consult with interested parties, as appropriate.
GNSSCOM is a global network for achieving excellence in the field of nuclear and radiation safety and security communication through sharing knowledge, expertise, lessons learned and best practices.
GNSSCOM enables communicators and relevant experts to connect and collaborate across geographical and institutional boundaries. The network covers nuclear safety and security communication during non-emergency situations for national regulatory authorities, their technical support organizations and relevant government organizations. The objectives of GNSSCOM are:
- To share knowledge, expertise, lessons learned and best practices in communication;
- To promote capacity building in the field of communications through networking activities, including for establishing, developing and evaluating effective strategies and processes;
- To provide access to communication tools, materials, resources, knowledge databases, and publications to further enhance competence in communications;
- To collaborate to establish close working relationships and work on communication related issues, including for enhancing transparency and communication effectiveness.
