EduTA - Education and Training Appraisal

Purpose	EduTA missions entail a detailed appraisal of the status of the provisions for education and training in radiation protection and the safety of radiation sources, including the identification of the national education and training needs. The mission report identifies areas in education and training, where the provisions should be improved to meet the national education and training needs;  the international safety standards; and best practices and material needs. Recommendations are made on actions that are needed to meet the education and training recommendations in Safety Guide RS-G-1.4 and Safety Report n. 20.
Audience	Education and training providers; regulatory authorities
Team composition	Agency staff and 2-3 External experts
Duration	5 days (3 days for follow-up mission)
Expected output	A report containing a general description of the existing situation, identification of good practices, a set of recommendations addressing major deficiencies in the provisions for education and training. An action plan is also provided with a timeline for the implementation of the recommendations.

Recommended frequency	Whenever asked by a Member States; required for Member States  hosting a training provider acting as a Regional Training Centre for radiation protection and organizing a 'Postgraduate Educational Course in Radiation Protection and the safety of radiation sources' under the auspices of  IAEA
Resource requirements	Mission (travel, accomodation, DSA) of 1 agency staff and 2-3 external experts
Prerequisites	EduTA is applicable whenever a country realizes that it would benefit from Agency advice and assistance to strengthen its provisions for education and training
