| List of activities within the module | A comprehensive review of a design safety case or Safety Analysis Report (SAR) against IAEA Safety Requirements GSR Part 4 and NS-R-1 for all phases of the plant life cycle, from design, licensing, construction, and modification. |
| Purpose | To provide to the requesting Member State Organization a comprehensive review and assessment of existing plant design and recommendations on additional analysis or plant modifications to be carried out in order to comply with the IAEA Safety Standards and to enhance safety (e.g. SAR Review and Periodic Safety Review) . The review covers cross-cutting topics such as defence in depth, engineering aspects important to safety, accident analysis, safety classification, human factors, internal and external hazards, and topics related to specific structures, systems and components important to safety. The service includes review and evaluation of safety analysis methods and results interpretation, providing evaluation and advice on safety analysis methodologies, their completeness and accuracy, verification and validation against IAEA safety standards and best international practices. |

| International Probabilisitic Safety Analysis Review Team (IPSART) | |
| List of activities within the module | A safety analysis review module (IPSART) that covers the methodological aspects, completeness, consistency and coherence of all parts of a Probabilistic Safety Analysis (PSA), including plant models and data for internal and selected external hazards in different plant operational modes. It can be conducted at the plant design phase, but more frequently is conducted for operational plants, and may include in this case PSA applications developed to enhance plant design and operation, as well as regulation. |
